Chrono Trigger offered players a unique opportunity to travel through time on adventures that, at the time, were pretty fantastical. The game grapples so well with concepts like paradoxes, fate and destiny, and the ability to return to a point in time to save someone's life or livelihood. One sidequest involving Lucca's past, a particularly heart-wrenching moment in the game, still tugs at my feelings when I complete it today.

So I thought... what better way to bring in the new year than a song that's synonymous with bringing in the new millennium.....?

Mariachi Entertainment System is a fun YouTube channel that I found recently. This style of music may not be your type, but for anyone with a familiarity with Chrono Trigger and what this song means, the source material should still hit home regardless.

This brought back so many fond memories for me. Thanks Incog. God, what happened to the days when awesome games had equally awesome music that made you stay and care about those squint-worthy little sprites? I could very well be mistaken, tho, maybe there are games with awesome music and I just happen to be playing the wrong ones...
